Chill Drop Final Game to Thunder


THUNDER BAY, ON ------ July 25, 2010 --- Despite out shooting their opponents twenty to five, the Thunder Bay Chill (12-2-2) lost their final game of the regular season 2-1, to the Rochester Thunder (10-3-3).

Rochester took the lead in the 41st minute, when midfielder Chris Andre scored for the visitors. The Chill equalized in the 54th minute, courtesy of Brandon Swartzendruber. With the strike, Swartzendruber is tied for the league lead in goals with fourteen. Finn Jor scored the winning goal for the Thunder in the 78th minute, much to the disappointment of the home crowd at Chapples Park.

The Chill look ahead to next weekend; when the club hosts the 2010 Premier Development League (PDL) Central Conference Championship on July 30th, and 31st.

This is the first time the Chill has been awarded the Central Conference Championship.

The Thunder Bay Chill clinched the 2010 Premier Development League (PDL) Heartland Division  at Chapples Park, Thunder Bay, with a 2-1 win over the Rochester Thunder. The Chill, who claims their third Heartland Division title in four years.

Semi Final 2
Friday, July 30th, 2010 - 5:30 p.m. (EDT) - Heartland Division Champion vs. Great Lakes Division Runner Up.

Central Conference Championship Final
Saturday, July 31st, 2010 - 5:30 p.m. (EDT) - Winner of Semi Final 1 vs. Winner of Semi Final 2.
