THUNDER BAY, ON –---  June 11, 2010 ---- The Thunder Bay Chill finished Thunder Bay Chilloff a weekend sweep of the Springfield Demize Friday evening in front of a wet crowd of 540 fans at Chapples Park. The Chill saw four different players make the score sheet, as they defeated the Demize 4-1.

In what was a rainy affair, Brandon Swartzendruber opened the scoring for the Chill in the 15th minute. The Demize soon equalized as James Neighbour scored in the 19th minute, sending the teams into the half with a 1-1 score line. The Chill shifted into another gear in the second half, as Miguel Abascal fired a shot into the net in the 49th minute to give the Chill a 2-1 lead. Goals by Sergio Villalva in the 51st minute, and William Zardetto in the 81st sealed the win for the Chill.

Chill Captain Wilson Neto did not play as a precaution, after picking up a back injury in Thursday nights game. "We were able to rest a few guys today, and that will help as we gear up for Des Moines," said Chill Head Coach Tony Colistro. "It was not very good weather, and going into the second half we needed to find a way to win, and we did," stated Midfielder Miguel Abascal, who finished the game with a goal and an assist.

Next weekend the Chill play host to heated rivals Des Moines Menace, with the first game of the two-game series starting at 7:30 p.m. (EDT) on Friday, June 18th, 2010. The rubber match will take place on Saturday, June 19th, 2010 kicking-off at 7:30 p.m. (EDT).
